I am Cyprian Kimomo, a food systems researcher and writer. Five years of field agronomy in Kenya taught me how agricultural advice behaves when it meets a real farm. A master's at the University of Edinburgh taught me how to weigh sixty-nine studies against each other and say what they actually support.

I write for editors who need the facts to hold, and for companies that need difficult research turned into something a reader can use.

01 The fertiliser gap Africa cannot close with rate alone African governments have spent twenty years chasing a fertiliser target measured in kilograms per hectare. The recommendations farmers actually receive leave out the part that decides whether the nitrogen reaches the crop. Food systems 02 What 640 field comparisons say about two crops on one field Intercropping maize with legumes usually produces more food per hectare than either crop grown alone. A synthesis of sixty-nine sub-Saharan African studies shows how much more, and how unevenly the advantage is spread. More about me

I trained as an agronomist in Kenya and spent five years on the practical side of food security, designing field trials, running a seedling operation that supplied more than thirty thousand farmers, and advising smallholders on nutrient management for the Ministry of Agriculture.

That work left me with a specific instinct. Most agricultural and nutrition advice fails not because the science is wrong but because it is written for conditions the reader does not have. My master's at Edinburgh gave me the quantitative tools to test that instinct against the published record rather than against anecdote.

I now write for people who need the distinction between what a study shows and what a claim asserts to be handled carefully.
